England coach Fabio Capello has said he will select Steven Gerrard for the England squad to take on Montenegro if he is fit enough.
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish confirmed that the 31-year-old had not suffered any problems with his groin following the Merseyside derby yesterday, leaving Capello optimistic that Gerrard could play this Friday.
"I want to speak with Steve. If he decides: 'Yes, I can', he will be with us. If he says he can't, he will stay at home," said Capello.
"We have big problems with the midfielders."
Gerrard came on as a second half substitute in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park.
