Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes that Rickie Lambert will prove to be a positive addition to the team.
The 32-year-old signed for the Reds on Monday in a reported £4m plus add-ons deal from Southampton.
"I think it's a very good signing," Carragher told the club's official website. "He's a local boy, a Liverpool fan, and it's probably been a dream for him.
"There'll be lots of games with Liverpool being involved in the Champions League, so he'll play his part and I'm sure he'll get some goals."
Lambert scored in England's 2-2 draw with Ecuador in Miami on Thursday ahead of the World Cup in Brazil next week.
