Clichy pleased with "great" point

Gael Clichy thinks that the Liverpool clash at Anfield was one of the most "difficult" away fixtures that Manchester City have faced this season.

Manchester City defender Gael Clichy believes that the North West side should be "happy" with the 1-1 draw against Liverpool last night.

The Premier League leaders dropped two points at Anfield last night, but the ex-Arsenal player thinks that the result was positive for Roberto Mancini's side.

"We knew it was going to be difficult and they gave us a good challenge," said Clichy. "This and QPR away are the two most difficult games we have played this year in the league.

"I believe Liverpool will be up there at the end of the season because they can play long balls, they can play down the wings, and through the middle.

"Maybe in their dressing room the feeling was they lost two points, but for us the feeling was we won a great point and I hope it will be a good point for the end of the season. We worked hard, we fought for each other and I think the fans will be happy with the performance."

Meanwhile, City take on Arsenal in the Carling Cup quarter-final at the Emirates tomorrow.
