Kenny Dalglish has confirmed that Luis Suarez will shake hands with Patrice Evra before Liverpool's Premier League showdown with Manchester United on Saturday.
The arch rivals go head to head at Old Trafford this weekend, with Suarez and Evra expected to face each other for the first time since the Uruguayan was charged with racially abusing the Red Devils defender in October.
Despite a potentially explosive encounter on the cards, the Football Association have decided not to cancel the pre-match handshakes between the two teams.
"Everyone involved, including the media, the supporters and both teams have a responsibility to ensure this weekend is remembered as a cracking game of football between two very good sides, rather than for anything else," Dalglish told the club's official website.
"I'm sure people will want to talk about Luis Suarez, but he accepted his ban, served his suspension and returned against Spurs on Monday. It's time for all of us to draw a line under what happened and move forward.
"People are already speculating on the pre-match ceremony, but from Luis's point of view we have spoken to him and I know he will shake the hand of Patrice Evra and the other Manchester United players before the game."
Liverpool are chasing a coveted fourth spot while United continue to push Manchester City at the top of the table in a bid to retain the league title.
