Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has urged everybody connected with the club to remain positive following their 3-0 3-0 defeat at the hands of rivals Manchester United this afternoon.
The striker, who has been sidelined since late August through injury, missed the loss at Old Trafford, which has left the Reds seven points adrift of fourth-place West Ham United in the Premier League, and it came on the back of their recent group-stage exit from the Champions League.
However, Sturridge has called on supporters and his teammates alike not to be too downbeat.
"Absolutely gutted for everyone. Woke up and watched the game and it hurts. I'm optimistic though and I hope everyone else feels the same. Just know I'm working hard to ensure I'm back healthy. I miss everything about the game. I can't wait to help us be successful," the 25-year-old wrote on Twitter.
Next up for Liverpool is a Capital One Cup quarter-final tie away at Championship leaders Bournemouth on Wednesday.
