Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez has the worst big-chance conversion rate across Europe's top five leagues, with his total down at a disappointing 20%.

The Uruguay international has scored 18 times and registered 13 assists in 46 appearances for Liverpool during the 2023-24 campaign, but he has also been guilty of missing a number of opportunities.

Nunez again had chances to score against Crystal Palace in Sunday's Premier League contest, including one which he fired straight at goalkeeper Dean Henderson in the second period.

The 24-year-old had three shots during his 66 minutes on the field against the Eagles, and it has emerged that Nunez has the worst big-chance conversion rate across Europe's top five leagues at 20%.

Nunez has scored 33 goals and registered 17 assists in 88 appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side since arriving from Benfica in the summer of 2022.

Eberechi Eze netted the only goal of the match on Sunday, as Palace recorded a famous 1-0 victory at Anfield and dented the home side's Premier League title hopes in the process.

The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw by Manchester United in the Premier League last weekend before losing 3-0 at home to Atalanta BC in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday night.

Klopp's side remain third in the Premier League table, two points behind the leaders Manchester City, while they are on the verge of being knocked out of the Europa League.

Liverpool won the EFL Cup earlier this year but are now facing ending the campaign without further silverware.

Robertson critical of Liverpool's finishing in recent weeks

Reds left-back Andrew Robertson admitted after the clash with Palace that the team need more from their forward players in terms of goals, but he also insisted that the defence need to tighten up.

"It's been the story of the last few games and that's why we have been punished in these games. We are struggling to keep clean sheets right now," he told Sky Sports News.

"I don't know how many we have had in the last 10 or 15 games but it won't be many. When you do that you have to take chances. As simple as that.

"The boys in front of goal have to do better. But the boys at the back, as a defensive unit as a whole, we have to do better. Which isn't a great thing for success. So frustrating today. So many chances.

"First half I thought we were poor and they were in top and could have been more than 1-0 up. Second half we had enough chances to win two or three games."

Liverpool will aim to complete a huge turnaround in the Europa League against Atalanta next week before resuming their Premier League campaign away to Fulham on April 21. body check tags ::
