Former Premier League official Dermot Gallagher has praised Anthony Taylor for handing a yellow card to Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah for simulation.
During the first half of Liverpool's 1-0 defeat to Chelsea, Salah went to ground under a challenge from Gary Cahill but the Egyptian international dragged his foot in an attempt to make contact with the centre-back.
Salah failed to do so and referee Taylor promptly booked the PFA Player of the Year, leading to Gallagher giving credit for how the decision was made.
Gallagher told Sky Sports News: "It is the right decision and it's come because Anthony has worked very hard to get in the right position. What you would also say is that Anthony is also blocked off by a defender so he's had to really concentrate and get it right.
"Every decision is brave if you wanted to look at it like that but it is the correct decision and that's what people want, especially in that incident."
Manager Jurgen Klopp agreed that Salah deserved to be cautioned for his part in the incident.
