Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has revealed that a win against Manchester United on Sunday could help his side make a climb up the Premier League table.
The Merseysiders go into the game against their bitter rivals at Anfield having won just two points from their opening four matches, leaving them 17th in the standings.
"It's a massive game - we're looking for our first win of the season and there would be no-one better for us to start getting three points on the board," Gerrard told the club's official website.
"Hopefully then we can go on a run of winning games and move up the league because our start to the season has been inconsistent."
Liverpool haven't lost to United at home in the league since they were beaten 1-0 back in December 2007.
