Club legend Steven Gerrard has claimed that Liverpool would not be clear at the top of the Premier League table without Jordan Henderson.
The captain has enjoyed an excellent campaign for the Merseyside giants, contributing three goals and five assists from 25 outings in the top flight.
However, rather than praising his goal involvement, Gerrard has pointed to the commitment of the Englishman, suggesting that Liverpool would be much worse off without the 29-year-old.
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, Gerrard said: "We both know there are players who are "at it" every day. I appreciated Jordan's power and fitness by training with him.
"Some players play for themselves: Jordan does the dirty running, grappling for second balls, 12 or 13 kilometres Saturday and Wednesday, again and again.
"Teams can't function at Liverpool's level without a cog like Jordan Henderson. He's obviously going to be a Premier League winner. I look at him and think: good for you."
With 12 matches remaining and one game in hand, Liverpool sit 19 points clear at the top of the standings.
