Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has claimed that he is determined to defeat Everton in the Merseyside derby this Sunday as it will be Jamie Carragher's final derby.
The England skipper would dedicate a win at Anfield to the defender, who will retire at the end of the season.
"Being a local lad we feel the passion that runs through the city," Gerrard told talkSPORT. "These Merseyside derbies are massive. Jamie [Carragher] will be playing at the weekend, he's one of the first names on the teamsheet at the moment because he's been brilliant since he came back into the team.
"We're hoping to get a nice derby victory for Jamie to remember because this is his last one. I'm going to miss him more than anyone. I'm close to Jamie on and off the pitch, it's an emotional time him packing it in."
Following Carragher's announcement, the 35-year-old was confirmed as a Sky Sports pundit for next season.
