Glen Johnson has hit back at the critics that believe Manchester City's Micah Richards should have been picked ahead of the Liverpool full back when Fabio Capello named his England squad to face Spain and Sweden.
The 23-year-old was snubbed in favour of Johnson, despite the former Chelsea defender being plagued with injuries this season.
Queens Park Rangers captain Joey Barton announced his dismay in his former teammate Richards being omitted from the Three Lions set-up.
"It's not for me to say if Micah Richards should be in the squad," the Daily Star quotes Johnson as saying.
"In every position you'll get people who want certain players to play and others who would prefer someone else.
"That's the industry we're in and I have to cope with it. All I can do is worry about myself."
England cemented a 1-0 victory over Spain on Saturday, and will face Sweden in their second international friendly tomorrow.
