Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has admitted that being named captain is the "biggest honour" of his career so far.
The 25-year-old was officially appointed skipper on Friday following the departure of Steven Gerrard, who has joined MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy.
Following the announcement, Henderson took to social media to write: "Biggest honour of my career so far being captain of this great football club. Thank you for all your support #YNWA."
Henderson signed for the Merseyside outfit from Sunderland in 2011.
