Jordan Henderson has claimed that England can be happy with their display in the 1-0 victory over Denmark on Wednesday night.
England were frustrated for long periods of the friendly at Wembley but Henderson believes that the hosts fully deserved to make a late breakthrough when Daniel Sturridge headed the winner.
"I think we kept the ball well and moved it from side to side well," the Liverpool midfielder told the FA's official website.
"We knew that they would try to sit deep and get us on the counter-attack, but I thought we controlled the game really well and we're delighted with the goal at the end.
"I think the gaffer was pleased. We did have a lot of the game, but I felt as though we needed to penetrate in behind a little bit more."
Henderson was making his eighth appearance for England on Wednesday evening.
