Former Liverpool owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are suing Fenway Sports Group for ousting them from the Premier League club last year, according to The Telegraph.
The American duo are seeking millions in damages against the new Reds owners as well as their former creditors Royal Bank of Scotland.
Former Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton, who helped clinch the FSG takeover, is also being targeted by the businessmen.
Last year the pair failed to move court proceedings over to the United States after Hicks famously described the ousting as an "epic swindle".
A date has yet to be set for the hearing but papers are reportedly being drawn up to the individuals concerned.
