Jurgen Klopp: 'I felt alone after Liverpool fans left'

Jurgen Klopp says he was surprised to see Liverpool fans leaving Anfield before the end of their 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace.

Jurgen Klopp has claimed that he "felt alone" when he saw some Liverpool supporters leave before the final whistle of their game against Crystal Palace.

The Eagles won at Anfield for a second successive season thanks to an 82nd-minute Scott Dann effort, but Klopp suggested that he was confused to see spectators leaving the Main Stand before the end of the match.

Klopp is quoted by the Liverpool Echo as saying: "The goal came after 82 minutes. Twelve minutes to go (including injury time), and I saw many people leaving the stadium. I turn around and saw them go. I felt pretty alone at this moment!

"We decide when it's over. Between 82 and 94 minutes, you can make eight goals if you want! But you have to work for it. The big decisions are made in moments when you are tired and under stress, and we have to learn that.

"It feels so bad, because it was absolutely not necessary. We have to feel this, keep this, and know why we don't want to feel this again. Look, I say what I think, please don't make it bigger than it is."

Klopp's former club Borussia Dortmund has regularly boasted the highest average attendance in Europe, with crowds at the Westfalenstadion often exceeding 80,000.
