Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that Wilfried Zaha will be like a new signing for Crystal Palace after putting pen to paper on a fresh long-term contract with the club.
Palace will host Liverpool at Selhurst Park on Monday night in the first match since Zaha penned the new terms, and the forward could celebrate by becoming the club's leading Premier League scorer of all time with a goal against the Reds.
The Eagles also brought in Cheikhou Kouyate, Max Meyer and Jordan Ayew this summer, but Klopp suggested that Zaha's new deal could be the best piece of business they have done.
"There were no spectacular signings but if you want you can see Zaha as a spectacular transfer," he told reporters.
"I think they are pretty happy that Wilfried signed a new contract. He's very important and last year was probably the best example of that."
Zaha's goal against Fulham on the opening weekend took him to 23 in the Premier League, level with Chris Armstrong's club tally.
