Liverpool's Adam Lallana: 'Players need to stick together during tough spell'

Adam Lallana says that he and his Liverpool teammates need to "stick together" after suffering their worst start to a league season in 22 years.

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has called on his teammates to "stick together" after the Reds suffered their fifth defeat in a row at the weekend.

The Merseyside outfit, who have had their worst start to a Premier League season in 22 years, picked up their third consecutive league defeat in the form of a 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

Rickie Lambert scored his first Liverpool goal courtesy of a pass from Lallana, but they failed to hold on to their lead and now face a crucial tie against Ludogorets Razgrad on Wednesday as they try to keep their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League knockout rounds alive.

"We need to stick together, it's as simple as that," Lallana told the club's official website. "When you're having a tough time as a team, you all need to stay together - you can't start becoming individuals.

"We win and lose as a team. We need to stay together, keep fighting and keep working for each other. We have got a tough game on Wednesday so we all need to be together for that one."

Liverpool are 12th in the Premier League table after taking 14 points from 12 games.
