Liverpool have been forced to cancel a trip to South Africa in May due to confusion over the country's domestic season.
The Premier League outfit were originally scheduled to play at Ajax Cape Town on May 21, but due to their season ending the following weekend, the visit has been scrapped.
A statement from the club said: "We are hugely disappointed that we are unable to visit and the team cannot play in front of our terrific supporters."
The trip was going to be the first visit to South Africa for the Reds in 19 years.
