Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has insisted that taking three points from their clash against Southampton is "all that matters" following a shaky start to the Premier League season at Anfield.
Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge found the back of the net to give the Reds a 2-1 victory on Sunday.
Despite experiencing a number of anxious moments throughout the game, Mignolet is confident that he and his teammates are capable of grinding out the results that they need.
"We fought and battled throughout the whole game, and ground a result out," Mignolet told the club's official website. "That's what this team is about.
"We keep going until the end and three points is all that matters. In what scenario, or how it happened, it's not really important."
Liverpool finished two points behind champions Manchester City last season, and they will face Manuel Pellegrini's side at the Etihad Stadium next Monday.
