Andrew Robertson 'frustrated' by lack of game time

Liverpool full-back Andrew Robertson admits that he has been frustrated by his lack of game time since joining the club from Hull City during the summer.

Liverpool full-back Andrew Robertson has admitted that he has found his lack of game time so far this season "frustrating".

The 23-year-old joined Liverpool from Hull City during the summer transfer window, but has found himself behind a rejuvenated Alberto Moreno in the pecking order at Anfield and has only made two Premier League appearances so far.

Robertson understands why his opportunities have been limited, though, and praised Moreno's form after it looked at one stage as though his Liverpool career might be over.

"For me and Moreno, if we start, great; if we don't, realistically we will be in the stand or not travelling. We have attacking people on the bench who can come on and change the game, which we usually need," he told BBC Scotland.

"James Milner had played left-back all last season and a lot people on the outside probably thought Moreno was finished at Liverpool, but he has worked really hard in training to get everything right. He has played well since he has been in there.

"It has been frustrating for me because my signing has probably lifted him but I believe that it has given Liverpool two good left-backs."

Robertson could make his first Champions League appearance for Liverpool when they take on Maribor on Tuesday.
