Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers dismisses claims that there is unrest among his players.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has played down reports suggesting that there is unrest among his players.

It has been claimed that Rodgers called an emergency meeting at the club's training ground on Sunday after the team's 4-1 thrashing by Arsenal.

The Reds' heavy loss at the Emirates Stadium has left their hopes of Champions League qualification hanging in the balance.

Rodgers has admitted that he held talks with his players yesterday, but the Northern Irishman insists that they were no different to the usual discussions that they have.

"I've heard that this morning. It is something you can't help," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "We have lots of meetings here in terms of analysing performance and it was no different to a whole host of meetings we have all year. Those meetings helped us recover from the bad start we had to win 10 games out of 13.

"I have a great bunch of players here who tirelessly every single day give me everything and you can see that in how we play. We might be short in terms of several elements but in terms of the commitment and work ethic that is pretty clear and has been since I've been here."

Liverpool are back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Blackburn Rovers for their FA Cup quarter-final replay.
