Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has allayed fears regarding Steven Gerrard's fitness by revealing that he was only substituted as a precaution during today's victory over Fulham.
The 33-year-old was replaced by Joe Allen in the 67th minute with the Reds already 4-0 up at Anfield.
"He obviously has had an issue with his hip," PA quotes the Northern Irishman as saying.
"Where I can rest him I will and we obviously had enough control of the game to do that.
"I think he is obviously a modern, seasoned professional at the top level so where he can get those little breathers it is important to get them. I haven't spoken to the medical people but he should be fine."
The Merseyside club are second in the Premier League table.
