Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has responded to claims made by Tottenham Hotspur head coach Tim Sherwood that the Reds may struggle with the pressure of the Premier League title race.
The Merseyside outfit, who are one point behind leaders Chelsea in the table, have seven games left to clinch their first league title since 1990.
However, Sherwood has questioned whether Liverpool will be able to "hold their nerve" in the final stretch.
In response to his comments, Rodgers said in Friday's press conference: "There was no expectation on us being where we are so there's certainly no pressure on ourselves. I suspect teams like Tottenham were expecting to challenge for the league this season.
"If you spend £100m you probably expect to challenge. I thought we showed there was no pressure the other night against Sunderland. We showed we can win in a different way and managed the game to see out a result. So there's certainly no pressure."
Liverpool and Spurs, who sit sixth in the standings, will go head to head at Anfield on Sunday.
