Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that Luis Suarez has matured over the course of the current season.
Suarez has displayed his best form during Liverpool's bid to be crowned Premier League champions, and Rodgers believes that the Uruguayan would be a deserving winner of the PFA Player of the Year award, which will be presented in a ceremony on Sunday evening.
"He is a brilliant talent. I think the supporters have seen him mature over the course of the last season," Rodgers told reporters ahead of Sunday's match with Chelsea at Anfield.
"He is a sheer winner and that probably over-spilled last year, but his development over the last year has been remarkable both on and off the field and Liverpool have benefited from that.
"For me he is the consistently outstanding player over the course of the last year."
Suarez has scored 30 league goals in as many matches this season.
