Liverpool's Brendan Rodgers: 'Premier League title race is not over yet'

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists that the Premier League title race is far from over heading into the final round of fixtures on Sunday.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that West Ham United could end Manchester City's Premier League title hopes on Sunday.

Manuel Pellegrini's men need just one point from their match against the Hammers at the Etihad Stadium in order to lift the trophy.

Liverpool, who are two points behind City in the table, need to beat Newcastle United at Anfield on Sunday to give them any chance of winning their first league title in 24 years.

"It's certainly not over," Rodgers said in Friday's press conference. "First and foremost, we can only concentrate on our job, our job is to win the game.

"For [Manchester City], West Ham have got some really talented players. To be able to go to Tottenham and win 3-0, you can certainly go to Manchester City and win, especially if you have a guy like big Andy [Carroll] up front with the quality that he has.

"City have got a really good defensive record, 14-odd clean sheets I think, so it shows that they're a really difficult team to play against. So our focus is on ourselves - if we do our job then I'll be happy."

Liverpool have won 11 games out of their last 13 fixtures.
