Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted that his side need to rediscover their spirit following their 3-0 defeat to Manchester United.
The Reds made several defensive errors against Louis van Gaal's side and also missed glorious chances to find the net as they were held in check by an inspired performance from David de Gea.
Rodgers has conceded that his team are lacking in spirit, but feels that there is resolve to improve their situation this season after they slumped to 10th in the table.
He told reporters: "We have to recapture the team ethos. With the emphasis of the team, it is clear to me that we are searching to find solutions.
"The players are working hard, the players have given everything, they are pressing and they are working. In every dressing room there have always been issues, but it is not something I discuss outside of the dressing room. The players are honest but we are not getting results.
"I can't fault the commitment of the players because they gave everything."
Rodgers made the decision to drop keeper Simon Mignolet for the match, and revealed that the Belgian could be out for a lengthy period.
