Liverpool defender Daniel Agger could be ruled out for a number of months following the injury that he picked up in Sunday's defeat to Manchester United.

The Danish international was stretchered off after colliding with teammate Glen Johnson during the 2-1 loss at Anfield.

"Agger's [injury] doesn't look good, the medics were saying it might be a medial ligament. We'll see," said manager Brendan Rodgers.

The Merseysiders are still without a win in the Premier League this season after two draws and three defeats from their opening five games.
