Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has insisted that he is ready to play up front for the team in the absence on Luis Suarez.
Suarez will miss Sunday's trip to West Ham United in the Premier League after picking up his fifth booking of the season during last weekend's win over Southampton.
Shelvey, who was employed as an attacker in the Europa League earlier in the season, now believes that he can fill the role further up the pitch.
"I played there against Young Boys and thought I did all right," said the 20-year-old. "I did a job for the team.
"It is difficult to adjust because you have your back to your opponent all the time, whereas in midfield you can see in front of you, so it is difficult in that respect.
"It is a different type of fitness as well, but I'll be ready for it."
Shelvey has scored four goals in 21 games for the Reds this season.
