Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has admitted that he is relishing the chance to get playing time under his belt for the England Under-21 side against Sweden tonight.
Shelvey has not featured for the Reds in the Premier League since Boxing Day and has insisted that he wants to prove his worth for club and country by scoring against the Swedes.
He told the Football Association's official website: "I felt good today. It was nice to get back to St. George's Park and get back training again.
"I've not played so much for Liverpool so I'd like to get some minutes under my belt.
"That's up to the gaffer here to pick me. Fingers crossed he does, and hopefully I get get a goal as well."
The 20-year-old made his senior England debut earlier this season in the 5-0 win over San Marino.
