Martin Skrtel's agent has indicated that the defender is ready to discuss a new contract with Liverpool.
The Slovakian has recently been linked with a move to Manchester City but his representative insists that his client will meet with his current club to begin talks over a new deal.
Karol Cstonto told The Sun: "Some changes have been made at the club and he [Skrtel] wants to know what the aims and ambitions are.
"And of course, we will discuss the issue of Martin's new contract.
"Liverpool is a big club and just because they haven't made the Champions League this year doesn't mean they would not do next year."
The 27-year-old's current deal expires in two years' time.
