Stoke City striker Peter Odemwingie has warned the club to expect a tough game against Liverpool on the opening weekend of the Premier League next Sunday.
The Potters thrashed Brendan Rodgers's side 6-1 on the last day of last season in Steven Gerrard's final Liverpool match, but Odemwingie has insisted that this will be a different game.
He is quoted as saying by The Sentinel: "It's a different situation when it's the first game of the season. The result we had against them, it can be tricky and can go both ways. It will be a different situation now. Before that game we were full of confidence after a few good results.
"Now there's a bit of pressure at home after a long wait for our fans, but I'm sure the manager will find the right words to put us in the right frame of mind. The key will be forgetting the last result of last season."
Liverpool have only won once at Stoke since they arrived in the Premier League in 2008.
