Daniel Sturridge has claimed that his Liverpool and England teammate Steven Gerrard is a player he looks up to and believes other young players should follow his example.
Gerrard missed England's defeat against Chile, but will equal Sir Bobby Moore's haul of 108 England caps if he plays against Germany on Tuesday night.
"He is a legend. He is a great man on and off the pitch too. He leads by example and he is someone I look up to," talkSPORT quotes him as saying.
"I am happy for him and his family. He deserves everything he gets because he works hard and he is someone every looks up to.
"He is a leader and the captain of the boys. I think he is an example for the youth coming up now and he is somebody that I look up to still."
Sturridge is captained by Gerrard at club and international level.
