Former Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge has hailed Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling as one of the world's best players.
The 26-year-old has been a shining light for England at this summer's Euro 2020 tournament, scoring three goals in four games so far.
Sterling was part of Liverpool's front three that consisted of Sturridge and Luis Suarez before he got his move to the Etihad, and his former teammate Sturridge is in no doubt Sterling will stand out again in Rome on Saturday.
"I don't think it's spoken about enough at just how brilliant he has been, consistently over the course of the last three or four seasons. He's shown real growth and maturity in how he's playing the game, working hard while positionally and tactically he's been brilliant," he told Sky Sports News.
"He's scoring goals as well which is one thing people would not have thought he could do consistently. He's doing everything that is asked of him, on and off the pitch - doing everything that can be asked of a world-class player. I've been blown away by how he's been playing."
