Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is on course to be fit for the start of the upcoming Premier League season.
The frontman picked up an ankle injury during England's friendly clash with the Republic of Ireland in May and reports had suggested that he may not recover in time for August 17 when Liverpool open up against Stoke City.
However, Liverpool's head of performance Glen Driscoll has revealed that the 23-year-old is "progressing really well".
"Daniel Sturridge is the only player in the squad not training at the moment, but he's progressing really well and he's still on target to make the start of the season," Driscoll told the club's official website.
Sturridge joined the Reds in January from fellow Premier League side Chelsea.
