Luis Suarez: 'I have changed'

Luis Suarez says that he is learning to curb the attitude problem that has caused him disciplinary trouble in the past.

Liverpool hitman Luis Suarez has claimed that he is learning to curb the attitude problems which have landed him in trouble in the past.

The Uruguay international has been no stranger to controversy throughout his three-year stay in England, with the 26-year-old previously banned for racially abusing Patrice Evra and biting Branislav Ivanovic - the latter of which earned him a 10-game ban.

However, Suarez, who leads the Premier League's goalscoring chart this season with 20 strikes, admits that he has made mistakes but is confident that similar controversies will not arise again.

"My temperament, attitude, desire and hunger when I am on the pitch has always been like this and will continue to be this way, I now know I have to control it more," he told ESPN.

"An example of this was about two weeks ago when I had an open shot at goal and hit the post and it rebounded close to my hand and I was about to go for it and then I stopped.

"I am improving my attitude on the pitch because I know I was wrong in the past and I was creating an image of myself I know wasn't me."

The Reds travel to the Potteries for a clash with Stoke City on Sunday afternoon.
