Swansea City's Neil Taylor has claimed that his former teammate Joe Allen is finally proving his worth at Liverpool.
The 24-year-old Welshman joined the Merseyside club from the Swans in 2012 but has struggled to hold down a regular starting place.
However, the midfielder has been in impressive form for the Reds, featuring in their 1-0 victory over Swansea on Monday night, and Taylor is not surprised that Allen has become a key player.
"I've always known he was a great player, we know in Wales what a good player he is. He just needed to be fit," BBC Sport quotes Taylor as saying.
"Unless you are a real football person and know the game and see the game like we do, then you may not see the nuts and bolts that Joe does so well."
Both Allen and Taylor are expected to be included in Chris Coleman's Wales squad for their Euro 2016 qualifier against Israel on March 28, which will announced on Wednesday.
