Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah has broken yet another two Premier League records with his goal and assist against Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
Amid ongoing speculation surrounding his contract situation, Salah was unsurprisingly given the nod from the first whistle against Kieran McKenna's side, starting alongside Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz in an attacking trident.
After Liverpool weathered an early Ipswich storm, Arne Slot's side began to turn the screw in the second half, where Salah set up Jota for the Reds' first goal of the top-flight campaign.
Only a few moments later, the Egypt international went from provider to goalscorer, linking up nicely with Dominik Szoboszlai and coolly poking the ball past Christian Walton after being played onside by Axel Tuanzebe.
In doing so, the former Chelsea and Roma man scored for the ninth time on the opening weekend of the Premier League season, setting a new outright record in that category.
Salah's previous tally of eight was a joint-high alongside Wayne Rooney, Alan Shearer and Frank Lampard, and he also now has 14 direct contributions on the opening weekend, breaking Rooney's previous record of 13.
However, Liverpool were dealt a possible injury blow over defender Jarell Quansah before Salah's record-breaking moment. body check tags ::
