West Ham United midfielder Pablo Fornals has stated that he believes his teammate Jarrod Bowen has performed well enough to force his way into the England squad.
Bowen, who has played in all seven Premier League games so far this season, scored his first goal of the new campaign in the Hammers' 2-1 defeat at home against Brentford on Sunday.
The 24-year-old was placed on Gareth Southgate's standby list for the last international break in September, and Fornals believes the former Hull City forward deserves his chance on the international stage.
"Jarrod is trying to score every game and is playing a massive part for West Ham," Fornals told the Evening Standard.
"Why not soon England can make a call for him? He deserves it just the same, or more, than [some of the] players who are going. I think if he keeps playing at this level, 100% he will get his chance."
Bowen, who is reportedly being monitored by Premier League trio Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City, has made 63 appearances across all competitions for West Ham, scoring 10 goals and providing 12 assists. body check tags ::
