Liverpool vs. Fulham: Arne Slot out to set new Premier League record in Anfield clash

:Headline: Liverpool vs. Fulham: Arne Slot out to set new Premier League record in Anfield clash:
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot will have the chance to set a new Premier League record when the Reds face Fulham in Saturday's Premier League clash at Anfield.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot will have the chance to set a new Premier League record when the Reds play host to Fulham on Saturday.

Slot has required no time to adapt to Premier League management, having overseen 11 wins in 14 top-flight matches in the Liverpool dugout (D2, L1).

The Dutchman would have been slightly frustrated to see his side drop two points in their most recent Premier League outing against Newcastle United on December 4.

Mohamed Salah scored a brace as the Reds played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at St James' Park, extending their unbeaten run to 10 league matches.

Liverpool were not given the opportunity to extend that streak last weekend after the Merseyside derby against Everton was called off due to the adverse weather.

The Reds eventually returned to action in midweek, clinching a narrow 1-0 victory over Girona to guarantee them a spot in the top 16 of the Champions League league phase.

Slot looking to set Premier League record against Fulham

Liverpool will now turn their focus back to domestic action, with the Reds sitting at the top of the Premier League tablewith a four-point lead over second-placed Chelsea, who have played one game more.

Having taken 35 points from his first 14 league games, Slot has the opportunity to create Premier League history in Saturday's home fixture.

If Liverpool beat Fulham at Anfield, Slot will set a new record for the highest number of points collected by a manager in his first 15 Premier League matches.

The current record is 37 points and is shared by former Aston Villa manager John Gregory and ex-Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

Salah eyeing fourth spot in Liverpool's all-time scorers list

While his manager is targeting a record, Salah will be looking to move up a place in Liverpool's all-time top scorers list.

The Egypt international is currently sitting in fifth spot after scoring 227 goals in 371 competitive appearances for the Reds.

Salah will move level with Billy Liddell if he finds the net on Saturday, while a brace would see him take fourth position outright.

The 32-year-old will certainly fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet after finding the net in each of his last seven Premier League appearances.

If Salah scores on Saturday, he will follow Ruud van Nistelrooy, Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge in scoring in eight consecutive Premier League matches. body check tags ::
