Swansea earned a 0-0 draw with Liverpool at Anfield as both sides failed to take their chances in front of goal.

Swansea were indebted to goalkeeper Michel Vorm and the woodwork for keeping the scores level at half time.

Andy Carroll rattled the bar early on and then Vorm produced a string of saves to keep Carroll and Luis Suarez at bay.

Liverpool didn't have it all their own way in the first 45 minutes though as Pepe Reina had to save from point-blank range to deny Swansea's Danny Graham.

Kenny Dalglish hauled off Jordan Henderson at half time and replaced him with Dirk Kuyt but it was Swansea who started the brighter.

Swansea constantly tested Reina in the Liverpool goal and it was the Spanish goalkeeper who was far the busier in the second period.

The Welsh side missed a golden opportunity to score when Mark Gower fired over with the goal at his mercy.

Liverpool then went to the other end and thought they had won it but Dirk Kuyt's header was correctly ruled out for offside.

Both teams continued to press for a winner but neither side could make the breakthrough in the end.
