Liverpool are reportedly contemplating whether to make an approach for Nice winger Mohamed-Ali Cho.

Despite last weekend's FA Cup defeat at Plymouth Argyle, the Merseyside giants are enjoying an outstanding first campaign under Arne Slot.

As well as sitting at the top of the Premier League table and having reached the last 16 of the Champions League, Liverpool are also in the EFL Cup final.

However, consideration needs to be given to the summer transfer market, a consequence of Mohamed Salah still having not extended his contract past the end of 2024-25.

Although the general consensus is that the Egypt international would prefer to remain at Anfield, doubts persist over whether a new deal will eventually be penned.

Mohamed-Ali a Salah alternative?

According to TEAMtalk, Nice winger Cho has emerged as a potential addition to the Liverpool final third.

The report suggests that club officials have been left impressed with the impact that the 21-year-old has made in Ligue 1 this season.

Three goals and three assists have come from 17 appearances, including in recent victories over the likes of Marseille and Lens.

Cho has already made 140 outings in his professional career, also representing Real Sociedad and Angers, while he is no stranger to life on Merseyside.

Five years were spent in the academy system at Everton before returning to his homeland with Angers in 2020.

One for the future?

With the France Under-21 international having just 13 goals and 11 assists to his name from 140 outings, he has hardly been prolific in the final third.

Nevertheless, Liverpool have seemingly seen enough when it comes to his potential, particularly when they have to consider potential Salah replacements and a potential alternative to Federico Chiesa.

Furthermore, Slot is said to want to sign at least one player who is capable of playing in all three roles across the forward line, Cho fitting the bill.

At a time when Nice sit in third place in the Ligue 1 table, Liverpool are likely to monitor the situation, interested to see whether Cho can deliver at a crucial period of the campaign. body check tags ::
