AC Milan are reportedly on the verge of agreeing a deal to sign Liverpool striker Divock Origi as a free agent this summer.
The 26-year-old sees his deal at Anfield expire at the end of the season and is widely expected to end his eight-year stay with the Reds ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
Both AC Milan and San Siro rivals Inter Milan have been credited with an interest in Origi, with the Rossoneri now thought to have stolen a march on the Serie A champions.
According to the Daily Mail, AC Milan are now edging closer to an agreement for Origi's signature, with the potential extension in his Liverpool contract unlikely to be triggered.
Origi supposedly told Liverpool he was keen to leave the club earlier this month, with the Belgium international failing to start a single Premier League game so far this season.
Garnering a cult-hero reputation for his last-minute goals, Origi has registered 40 strikes and 17 assists in 171 games for Liverpool since his arrival from Lille in 2014. body check tags ::
