Alberto Aquilani's agent Franco Zavaglia has claimed that the midfielder would be open to a return to Liverpool this season following a loan stint at AC Milan.
The 27-year-old has failed to make an impact at Anfield after joining the club in 2009 due to lack of first-team football and injuries. However, according to the player's representation it is up to Reds boss Brendan Rodgers to decide on whether the playmaker deserves a second chance with the Merseyside club.
"The new Liverpool coach will decide Alberto's fate," Zavaglia told Italian radio station Radio Mana Mana.
"We will have to wait and see what he thinks about the player and whether Alberto will be of any use to the Reds.
"Alberto has a contract at Liverpool for another two years and they will let us know about their intentions soon. He would be happy to stay at Liverpool if he was given the right opportunities."
Aquilani is contracted to Liverpool until 2014.
