Marco Asensio is reportedly open to extending his contract at Real Madrid past the end of 2023.

Having not been first choice at the Santiago Bernabeu for a number of season, speculation persists that the 26-year-old will eventually entertain a transfer elsewhere.

With just 17 months remaining on his contract, the likes of Liverpool and AC Milan have been among the clubs linked with a future approach.

However, according to Goal, Asensio would prefer to speak with Los Blancos before making any decisions on his future.

As well as claiming that the midfielder is in no rush to make a final call on the next stage of his career, the report adds that there is a mutual respect between the relevant parties.

Asensio has made just 10 starts and 11 substitute appearances in the La Liga and Champions League this season.
