Liverpool have been given a glimmer of hope in their negotiations with Barcelona over the transfer of Luis Suarez, as reports suggest the deal has stalled.
A £20m gap in valuation is keeping the Uruguayan from sealing his move to the Catalan giants, according to The Express.
As talks between the clubs continue, Liverpool are thought to be holding out for £80m for their star player, with Barcelona hoping that £60m will be enough in the wake of the player's biting scandal.
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague says Suarez had to apologise to secure his move. He is quoted as saying: "It is also part of an appeal that will surely reduce his ban."
The Reds are due to start their Premier League campaign at home as they welcome Southampton to Anfield in August.
