Philippe Coutinho is close to signing an improved contract with Liverpool that will tie him to the club until 2020, according to reports.
The Brazilian's current deal runs until 2018, but Liverpool are eager to reward the midfielder for his fine recent form.
The Liverpool Echo reports that the deal could be concluded by the end of the week.
Brendan Rodgers praised Coutinho on Monday for his displays during the last two months and is thought to be keen to wrap up a deal to keep the 22-year-old at Anfield.
Coutinho has scored eight goals in 57 appearances for the Reds since joining the club for £8m in January 2013.
