Marseille defender Duje Caleta-Car reportedly wants Liverpool to make a fresh approach for his services during the summer.
The 24-year-old had been in line to join the Premier League giants in January before Marseille opted to retain his services.
However, according to Le 10 Sport, the Croatia international may be back on the market later in 2021, particularly if Marseille fail to qualify for the Europa League.
The report suggests that centre-back wants to take on the challenge of representing the Merseyside giants, who must decide whether Caleta-Car represents better value for money than Ozan Kabak.
Having put together a loan deal with an option to buy with Schalke 04, Liverpool can sign Kabak for £18m at the end of the season.
Providing that Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are fit for pre-season, Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to entertain the possibility of signing both players.
