Lyon attacker Nabil Fekir has claimed that "only Liverpool know" why he failed to complete a move to Anfield during this summer's transfer window.
Fekir was said to be on the verge of joining Liverpool in June, only for the France international to fail his medical due to concerns over a long-standing knee problem.
The 25-year-old ultimately stayed with Lyon beyond the end of the English transfer window, and the attacker has said that the Merseyside club are to blame for the failed move.
"I heard a lot of things. The real reason? Only Liverpool know. These things happen, it's just how it is. We have to move on, it's well in the past now," the Liverpool Echo quotes Fekir as saying.
"I have totally come to terms with the failed transfer to Liverpool."
Fekir, who scored 23 times in all competitions for his French club during the 2017-18 campaign, appeared as a late substitute in Lyon's 2-0 win over Strasbourg in Ligue 1 on Friday night.
