Roberto Firmino's agent Roger Wittman has indicated that talks over a new Liverpool contract are on the "right track".
The Brazil international played a key role in Liverpool's success under Jurgen Klopp, scoring 107 goals and providing 78 assists in 348 appearances.
Firmino has helped the Reds win multiple honours during his time with the club, including a Premier League title and a Champions League trophy.
However, his future at Anfield is currently uncertain, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
Although he is able to discuss a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs, Firmino is currently in discussions over a new Liverpool deal.
The 31-year-old is keen to continue to play at the highest level, and he has previously expressed a desire to remain with the Reds.
With negotiations over a deal ongoing, Firmino's agent has provided an update on the situation, suggesting that a decision will be made in the next month.
"It's a very long relationship between Roberto and Liverpool," Wittman told Sky Deutschland. "Roberto feels good. At the moment, we're in a great exchange and in February we'll probably know where the journey is going.
"But Roberto also has to have a say in order to reach an agreement with Liverpool. We're on the right track (and) we're having really good talks with Liverpool. They're a superbly positioned club."
Jurgen Klopp has previously stated that he wants the Brazilian to extend his stay with the Merseyside club.
Firmino has not featured since the World Cup break due to injury, but he has still managed to register nine goals and four assists in his 21 competitive appearances this season.
Liverpool are yet to offer new deals to Naby Keita, James Milner and Adrian, who are all out of contract at the end of the season.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to leave the club on a free transfer in the summer, after Liverpool decided against offering the midfielder a new deal.
Liverpool, who are currently sat in ninth place in the Premier League table, are preparing to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday. body check tags ::
