Genoa and Fiorentina have reportedly identified Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic as a potential January signing.
Markovic - who has long been out of favour at Anfield - failed to secure a move to either Anderlecht or Olympiacos during the closing days of the summer window, but the Serbian will again be allowed to find a new club in January.
According to Calciomercato, the 24-year-old's ongoing situation could lead to Genoa and Fiorentina making an attempt to take the player to Serie A.
Markovic's contract expires at the end of the season, and Liverpool may be open to allowing the attacker to leave on a free in order to make space on their wage bill.
Liverpool have loaned Markovic to Fenerbahce, Sporting Lisbon, Hull City and Anderlecht since the start of the 2015-16 campaign.
